Great coffee. A bit slow on service though otherwise very nice place to sit outside in front of the ocean. People complaining here about overpriced.. The resturant is high class and look where you are sitting with the view.. It is not overpriced in that sense at all.

I had been told by a woman acquaintance that a beachfront restaurant called La Veranda, in Malabata, was good for its ambiance and the great views.
When I went there I immediately was followed (as if I were a potential shoplifter or criminal) by a woman employee who spoke no English, nor did any of the other workers seem to understand a word of English.
Granted, this is Morocco where French and Arabic are the official languages; however, Spanish and English are widely spoken in Morocco and in Tangier, just not at this place.
I took a menu, glanced at it, and I was immediately horrified at the ridiculously high prices.
La Veranda has a sparsely modern decor with huge plate glass windows overlooking the ocean and the beachfront promenade.
The restaurant is very good for the ocean and beach views, but I cannot vouch for the quality of the food or the service, since I immediately walked out the door because of the ridiculously high prices.
Money makes the world go round, I suppose. Be sure to bring a lot of cash when or if you decide to eat at La Veranda.
A petit dejeuner is a whopping 70 Dirhams, exactly double the 35 Dirhams that I had paid 30 minutes earlier at the nearby Cafe Panorama, which has just as good views and that included a salad garnish and a coffee. And I could sit outside on a large wrap-around terrace rather than only inside at La Veranda.
La Veranda has prices that would be considered expensive for any so-called "chic" place in Morocco. These are New York City, London and Paris prices.response / report this review -
