This is definitely one of the best hotels in "downtown" Tafraoute, if the town does actually have a downtown area.

Hotel Salama is modern, clean and comfortable, with a pleasant and very quiet sitting area in its lobby and a cafe and restaurant downstairs that has simple food.

The views of the surrounding mountains from the upper rooftop terrace and from the balconies and room terraces are simply amazing.

All of the front facing rooms have excellent air-conditioning and small balconies, and the baths have showers but no bath tubs.

There is hot water for several hours each morning and evening that is reliable, unlike other hotels on my trip that had barely warm or nonexistent hot water.

No credit cards are accepted at the hotel, and no alcoholic drinks are sold in the restaurant. There is no porter to carry bags up the stairs at entrance to reception and to your room.

The white bath towels are a bit stiff, but the beds are made up daily and the bath room is cleaned by the maid. There are flat-screen televisions in the rooms but there is no mini-refrigerator or room safe.

The Hotel Salama and its downstairs restaurant and cafe have reliable and strong WiFi throughout. There is no swimming pool, but the downstairs cafe and restaurant's quiet outside terrace is a pleasant place to relax and is surrounded by flowering plants.

Our double room cost 300 Dirhams a night, and the room tax was included. I definitely would stay in the Hotel Salama again.
