  Although I stayed at another hotel in Taroudant, a friend who lives in Tangier always stays at the Hotel Saadiens when she is in Taroudant, and she adores the hotel.
  
  When I walked inside I noticed it was like a ghost town and the receptionist showed me a large room upstairs overlooking the pool. It looked like it had seen its heyday about 30 years ago, and I did not care for the decor.
  
  I assume breakfast is served in the morning. The receptionist sat in a somewhat dark and uninviting entrance room. There is no elevator.
  
  My first impression was that if I were looking for comfort and luxury this hotel would definitely not be it. However, I was curious to see the place my Tangier friend likes to stay in.
  
  The street-side exterior of Hotel Saadiens is pretty awful and dusty looking. Still, for 200 or 250 Dirhams a night this may be OK for some who don't want to pay more. And you are right in the middle of Taroudant's Medina.
  
  Make sure your room air conditioner works. You will need it.
