  Cafe Iberia is popular with locals and is directly across from Tangier's largest mosque at the Place de Koweit ("Iberia"). It is sometimes noisy inside and it is not the cleanest place (it is very annoying have to swat a persistent barrage of flies away from your table or cup, or always have to wipe your teaspoon dry before using it.
  
  Many locals love this cafe partly because of its ideal location at "Iberia" (Place de Koweit) and more likely because drinks are cheaper than the other nearby places that are more upscale such as La Fuga, La Gelateria, Salon de Tea l'Italienne and Eric Kayser. Yet there are many happy and devoted daily clients here, and retired people.
  
  Unfortunately, Cafe Iberia has a squat hole toilet upstairs and the owner never uses its air conditioner, so avoid sitting inside on a very hot day. It can be stuffy, as well as overly-noisy and crowded during football games that are shown on two flat-screen televisions on the walls.
  
  Unfortunately there is no WiFi at Cafe Iberia, but occasionally one may connect with La Gelateria's weak signal when it is strong enough to reach across the street.
  
  It would really improve the looks of the Cafe Iberia if the owner would thoroughly clean and polish the beautiful marble floors and remodel the men's rest room hot water for the sinks and at least one or two sit-down toilets and not an antiquated squat hole, which non-Moroccans and tourists definitely prefer.
  
  The place is just OK inside, but you could always sit outside watching the people and traffic or grand mosque across the roundabout with its large palm-tree in the center. You might be disturbed by the constant outside sounds of annoying beeping car horns and many loud ambulances rushing people to a hospital or clinic throughout the day. So don't expect peace and quiet at Cafe Iberia.
