Absolutely mystifying and stunning spot in Morocco, embodying a piece of history that is well maintained and open for tourists. If you’re coming part of a tour group, I’d strongly recommend telling the tour guide who comes up at the beginning (normally in a deal with the driver) that you’d rather explore by yourself as they don’t provide significantly critical information. If you want to support local business, that’s another issue but they do tend to be pretty devious and manipulative with tourists. The site is also where many popular movies where filmed.

Feel like a special place but you can find many similar around everywhere! Could be the historical background make it more special. Worth to visit if you near by, but
On the way up to the lost city walk cross on the river not on the bridge! Many small shop on the way, you can get almost everything and for much cheaper and easyer than Marracesh!

Amazing and unique place. View from the outside is more interesting than the walk around it. Very little to see in the buildings as they are mostly derilict.

This is a remarkable, albeit very touristy place made famous by the many movies filmed here, but don't let that deter you from visiting. Most of the tourists congregate at the fortification overlooking the city so the city itself is very quiet. Take time to wander around and appreciate the natural building resources composing the walls and structures (straw, clay, and bamboo), peak inside some of the old dwellings, and take in the feel of this old city suspended in time. The fortification at the top offers panoramic views of the desert stretching all the way to the snow-peaked Atlas mountains, vast expanses of untouched land as far as the eye can see.

Vale mucho la pena visitarlo pero hay que tener en cuenta las estacas que les hacen a los turistas. Es importante ver qué te ofrecen en el tour. Cuando el guía local quiera llevarte (hablan muy mal español y muy mal inglés) a dar la vuelta recomiendo que no lo sigas y que vayas por tu cuenta si realmente quieres ver el sitio, pregunta a qué hora y donde irán a recogerte. Es mejor hacerlo por tu cuenta.

Beautiful place and surroundings. A must see place. On the other hand I hate the fact that someone requires you to pay 10 dirahms if you enter from entrances other that the main through the bridge.

If you stay in Ouarzazate as we did, the best way to get to this site is by grand taxi just outside of the main bus station. It is a very large taxi station. Ask someone about which taxis going to ait Ben haddou. When you get to the section, they normally would tell you that no one else go to ait Ben haddou so you need to pay for entire trip for whatever the amount. Don't believe them. Be patient. For not too long they will tell you a shared taxi will take an extra stretch for you if you pay some more than the normal share of 20 dirahms, don't believe them and insist that you only pay the normal share. Then they will take you.

Great, must see! Very beautiful and authentic. It's free if you come trough the main entrance or 10 dirham if you take another entrance (but you can go inside and on top of houses if you pay that)

Very cool ancient kasbah that is well worth a visit. Famous facade that has been used in lots of movies and TV shows including gladiator and game of thrones. Better visiting in the morning as it's quieter and less tourists. 1-2 hours here is all you really need to explore. Costs 10dh to enter. Good views from the granary at the top of the hill.

I really really have enjoyed this place in all its parts. The very narrow streets, the unusual architecture of the ksar, and the outstanding landscape on the top next to the ex old bank. Three hours of driving to go there, but I would repeat the experience!

Absolutely lovely place, our guide was knowledgeable and informative. Be prepared for a STRENUOUS hike up many stairs in summer weather around 100 degrees Fahrenheit. Bring sunscreen. There are various things to purchase from kerchants around the Kasbah. It's a good look at traditional Berber architecture daring back to the 11th century. As a side note ask around for food and other amenities, do not feel obligated to purchase items from the place your guide brings you. Lovely place over all. This was also the place where various scenes have been shot such as Gladiator, Game of Thrones and Lawrence of Arabia.

very large medina and interesting architecture where you can see the traditional way in which houses are built in this area. many movies and tv series are shot here. the view of the area from the top is also very nice and allows you to see the different type of terrain in the area.

UN heritage site, one of the best things to see in Morocco! Great views of the surrounding valley (farmland and palm trees in the dessert, pretty cool) and the opportunity to explore the old world Morroco is once in a lifetime.

BEWARE: LOTS of worn down slippery steep staircases, you really have to be reasonably fit and have good footing to make it to the top. And of course there are the usual people hanging around selling stuff trying to get your attention.
