If you happened to be visiting Ghadamis (the Jewel of the Desert) which in other circumstances I absolutely recommend, don't pass on the opportunity to visit these two salt water lakes.
One is shallow, the other is deep (it is said to be more than 30m deep), and they are located out in the desert.
A few years ago it was mandatory to go there with a touristic guide (you can find some the city) and escorted by the police. Not sure now, but inquire first so nothing bad happensresponse / report this review
