  First things first: don't be afraid! Cross the Daugava to the "other side" and discover the city of Rīga which doesn't come in your regular travel guides!
  I was very lucky to have an almost private tour (it was its second day, so my sister and I were the only "guests of honour"), guided by the knowledgeable and fun Mārtiņš. :)
  He took us around the area known as Āgenskalns, where the old picturesque Rīga still stands, full of charming wooden houses, Art Nouveau buildings and other local gems. This is also the place where the new Rīga is taking shape, so the contrasts between the old and new, the past, present and future are strikingly interesting.
  At the end, the tips about where to go and where to eat are of great value!
