Gorgeous castle with museum inside. From the tower there is a good view of the surrounding parts of the Gauja National Park. And the admission to the entire compound is really low.

The recently reconstructed medieval castle in Turaida. Founded in 1214. No such big castle comparing to other similar castles. However the reconstruction continuously in progress for many years. And every year the site gets some new piece of recovered items. There are several exhibition rooms and watch tower.

Beautiful old castle nestled on the top of the hill at Turaida. Great views of the river from the tower and a few interesting exhibits to see. Only criticism would be that the restoration work isn't very sympathetic

Beautifully restored and maintained castle and grounds. It is full of history and quite informative. A marvellous view of the surrounding forest from the tower.

Not very well-groomed historical place, too crowded and all the greenery trampled. Beautifully during the "golden autumn", BUT even a few days after the rains everywhere terrible dirt. Is it so hard to get normal tracks or gangways?! Yes, the valley of the Dains is quite beautiful, but it's all drowning in the awful dirt! Is that normal for one of the oldest and most visited points of interest in the region?!

Great place to go to!Tickets aren't that pricey .You can bring all your family here bacause family ticket is cheap.Views from the castle tower are amaizing and beautiful.You can see river Gauja too!

It is worth to see but make sure to visit one day! 5euro for adult ..map is extra but dont have2buy it ;) for whole hill, folk song nature trail and castle Bath ,fish house carts house included , extra 0.7 euro traditional mansion house

It's a visit you must do. It's really beautiful and it's worthy getting there walking from Sigulda (Only 5 km)
