  Gut organisierter Flugplatz, in Stadtnähe. Sehr hilfsbereiter Aeroclub. Kleines Café auf dem Platz.

  A very suitable place for civil aviation and tourist transportation. It can still play a big role for the urban development of the city of Riga, the capital of Latvia and generate revenue and employment. It's a pity that this place is lying under-developed. Till this date, it is in dire need of big investment from both public and private sectors. Looking forward to it's betterment.
  
  To learn about development of aviation in Latvia, go to the Spilve Airport Museum. This is the oldest airport in Riga with a unique architectural pearl of Stalin’s time – passengers’ waiting room. Though international passenger flights are not being serviced any more at the airport, it is used by small aviation and avio-enthusiasts.
