Very friendly staff. The place is nicely demonstrating life in the early years of last century. Some interactive activities at the basement.

Lovely little museum. It wasn't too big and overwhelming. The format was perfect as you start on the bottom floor where you can view artefacts and videos about art Noveau in Riga then on the top floor you take a look around the house which I think is the best way to learn about culture in a city.
Don't expect a large museum with lots of see, we found this was the perfect amount of information.
We went here in winter when it was too cold dark and foggy to really appreciate the architecture so this was a nice way to see it.
Don't do what we did and walk straight up the many flights of stairs as it's a different museum up there and the Art Noveau one is on the ground floor!

A bit disappointing. Not really much of a museum. More of a showcase house with some nice furniture.

The museum is a bit more pricey than other museums in Riga, and the price increases if you want to take pictures as well. However it's well worth a visit. I greatly enjoyed it even though the museum isn't very big.

Lovely museum, there's a reconstruction of an art nouveau period house on the ground floor and a printing/photo collection downstairs. I surprisingly found the downstairs collection more interesting, it was a real blast from the retro past!

Carefully selected and displayed with great care. But sadly this museum provides more picture opportunities than actually educates. It still does a good job of illustrating bourgeois life at the turn of the century. Taking up the flight of stairs for the other little museum is definitely worth it.

Take a trip to years back and see what went on Art Nouveau time! The museum offers photography with AN outfit and printing service for only 2€ and you can have up to 4 photos by one payment! Even all staff are dressed in AN style clothes! So you will have a very real experience! If you are lucky you may be offered some cookies in the kitchen!! 😄

    Riga Art Nouveau Centre Museum,
    Address: Alberta street 12, Riga,LV 1010, Latvia

Art Nouveau architecture was popular in Riga, the capital of Latvia, during the late 19th century and the beginning of the 20th century – about 40% of the buildings from this time were built in this style.
German Art Nouveau is known commonly by its German name - Jugendstil. Although Art Nouveau was replaced by 20th-century modernist styles, it is considered now as an important transition between the historicism of Neoclassicism and modernism. Furthermore, Art Nouveau monuments are now recognized by UNESCO with their World Heritage List as significant contributions to cultural heritage. The historic center of Riga, Latvia, with "the finest collection of art nouveau buildings in Europe", was included on the list during 1997 in part
because of the "quality and the quantity of its Art Nouveau / Jugendstil architecture".

Make sure to check out stairway ceiling before entering museum - one of the most beautiful stairways, what I have ever been!

Nice reproduction of former Art Nouveau house. We initially though it was too small, but we ended up spending most of the afternoon inside this little world. Very rich in details and furniture, with some explanations for each of the rooms.

Worth visiting but expensive for Riga prices.. And it makes no sense to pay extra for taking photos

Nice to see but for 12€ for two adults definitely too expensive for what there is presented. And to charge an additional 1,50€ if you want to take pictures is quite perky

It's a nice original flat from the 1900s.
If you're very into this time you should give it a try. Otherwise just visit the stairway which is the most impressive - and it's free ;)
And the building itself and the neighbourhood is very nice!
