There is almost nothing to see - just few empty prison cells and that's all. Not worth spending time and money.

Interesting place. Guided tours starts at every hour, no mater how much visitors arrived. You can choose english, russian or latvian tour's language. Also there is souvenir shop, buffet, and even hotel, if you want to stay for the night at one of prison's cells. I recommend to visit. 10/10

I found that the main tour with artifacts from the era is a bit boring. But the stories behind the cells of this prison is captivating and scary. Ask the guide about sanitary conditions and the amount of the cell occupants. You can actually spend a night in this prison.

This is a really unusual experience and we highly recommend it. The brave can stay overnight and be treated as prisoners but we contented ourselves with a video and tour. The tour guide speaks three languages and does an excellent if rather rapid talk in English. He was very knowledgeable indeed and it is well worth listening to his account of life in Latvia under various hostile regimes. Go and learn! There is a little cafe that does snacks and the site has things to catch the imagination of children.

I recommend you to visit The Karosta prison. I've been there, it was kind of scary but awesome!
