The park is very beautiful to have a walk. Also there are very nice views.

Good place to have a walk even in winter. To see icefalls, different Latvian nature and caves. Many different hiking directions. And a lot of stairs.

Wonderful area of forest full of interesting museums, churches, castles, cable car, caves and attractions. Great for walks too.

Large national park at the heart of Latvia. To those who are used to impressive visitor centres and facilities it can come as a surprise to find there are none. At many national parks in the Baltic States we found few facilities.

Great place for some walks - some easy trails to do loops to get you back to your starting point. A lot of the trails are on wooden boardwalks so it makes it easy. Would definitely recommend as a day trip from Riga. Also, did the cable car - a neat experience but nothing too dramatic.

Area called Latvian "Swiss" has beautiful nature. Boat trips are especially recommended

The most picturesque Latvian nature has to offer. Take a boat ride down Gauja river. You won't regret it.

Beatiful views， relaxing atmosphere. Very good for camping or just a walk with family or dogs. Definitely worth seeing. Really really beautiful!

One of very few places to see in Latvia. Enjoyed hiking outside more than the castle itself. Some parts of the castle were reconstructed using modern bricks which does not look authentic at all )
