The proof that real beauty should be on the inside. What a place, even rats and cockroaches would skip this hostel. So after the check in we immediatly went to another hotel.

Disgusting, the outside looks very promising but the inside is disgusting. Bed and bathrooms are not clean and the beds are unsafe to sleep in. The only positive thing is the location.

The position is perfect, but this was the only positive point in our stay. Dirty and smelly bathrooms, unusable showers. The rooms are very essential and this is great, but our room was frozen as we checked in and began to be liveable after one day of heating at full power (that we switched on, since it was unplugged even though the temperature outside was around zero). You can hear whatever occurs in the room next door, since they are simply separated with a locked door. We had also a bad experience with the drunken people that were staying in the nearest room: they were shouting all the night and trying to break into our room several times, they were smoking both in the toilets and in their room and the smoke reached our room. That night we couldn't sleep at all. The cigarettes were in the toilet even after two days since they smoked.

Great location, cheap prices but dirty and disgusting. One of our friends checked out after one night, we didn't use the shower or toilet. Some drunk people banged on my friends door and screamed around. Many noisy people.

Good price and location. Yet the disgusting smell and crappy shower and toilet is unpleasant. And the shower room is usually lack of hot water. If you are really budget and dont mind living quality then you can stay here.

Very central location in beautiful classic Latvian building. Perfect for larger groups (4+) - showers a bit crappy - no water pressure.

Brilliant hostel, perfect location. Best price to stay in most popular and known, historical place in Riga. Beautiful environment around, souvenir shop,resto. Hostel by itself very quiet and cosy. Highly recommended.

Stayed here from Jan. 11, 2017- Apr. 12, 2017 as part of an internship with my university and my advice: DO NOT stay here. I have stayed in Hostels all over Europe, and this is the 2nd worst I have stayed in, but it makes it worse that I had to live here for three months.

There is a putrid, rotting smell from one of the showers (on the 3rd floor) that wafts EVERYWHERE and it is very disgusting. The room where my colleagues and I were given has floor damage and the old wood gives splinters.

We were promised a kitchen we got a dirty hot-plate that could barely simmer water.

There was an issue one week in March where, almost daily, either guests or the doorman were hotboxing the floor and smoking marijuana. We are pretty sure it was guests, although the main office was where the smell was coming from. When we, with our manager, told the owner to complain about the numerous times and we asked it to be looked into, she dismissed it as nothing (although smoking is prohibited in the hostel, and it is illegal in Latvia) and essentially said, "I don't care as long as I get paid." That attitude, more than anything, was the biggest reason why this incident was so memorable.

I will say though, there is a doorman named Roman and he is the NICEST person you will ever meet. Speaks English well, loves ice hockey, and is willing to help you if you have a question.

The location is nice geographically speaking, but if you MUST stay here, request a room on higher floors, as they are nicer. Unfortunately, they will more than likely pull you in with pictures of nicer rooms and then give you poor living conditions. Goodluck!

Great little hostel. Got a room with a nice view. Staff was friendly, helpful, and knew the area. Owner helped us get settled in even though we came in late. Its right in the middle of the Old Town.

Perfect location, centre of the Old Town. Plenty of bars and eateries close by and lots to see in the old town. Clubs are a little further out but everything is walkable from the hostel.
Showers & toilets are clean & tidy and staff on site 24/7 so anything can be taken care of and no curfew. It's a hostel not a hotel so don't expect luxury and facilities are limited but it's great value

Really nice location in old town.
But there is no kitchen and no room to meet other people in the Hostel. It's really old and there are funny smells in the rooms. Furniture is old and the beds are uncomfortable. Hostel is ok for the cheap price.
