Absolutely splendid place! Here you'll find a real old locomotive, and surprisingly realistic historically looking bridges (actually consisting of only one half and going over a ditch that might look like a deep river when filled), buildings that have only facades, belonging to a big range of "age" and "function", and a fully-built ancient slavic or viking yard. The place is amazing!

There is no much sense visiting this place. It's not possible to enter most of the buildings. Just a conglomeration of completely different buildings and objects of different epochs.

I missed some additional information and sign's. Thought it will be a bit bigger place. In some way - expected something more.

It's an interesting place for a wander but it's not worth driving from Rīga just to see a mock up of Rīga. I think if I go again, I'd like to work it into a cycling/train trip to this part of Latvia.
For me the highlight of the visit was the on-site wine shop with locally produced fruit wines. I took a bottle of blackcurrant wine away with me but the sparkling rhubarb wine is memorable too.
There's an interesting selection of semi derelict vehicles around the site; trucks, cars, trams, trains and boats and a selection of different styles of buildings.
The cafe serves good quality, quick and cheap food. The menu is the standard for Latvia, so don't expect anything unusual. If you are happy with cold soup, black bread, karbonades etc, you'll be happy here.

Interesting concept but lacks entertainment as not much information about the objects and opportunities to learn more or do more. Could do more to make it a bit more interactive, especially for kids. Still would recommend as a unique place to see how film decorations are made.
