Great experience and a must if you’re around Luxembourg City. Getting there is super easy and it’s cheap (I’d recommend getting a daily transport ticket), the museum ticket is about €9 euros. The tour that I did was in French but an English Audio guide was provided, and the tour guide did a great effort to explain in English all the questions that I had. The tour consists on taking a mine train that will take you about 2km inside the mine, and about 200m below ground, from there you continue on foot for about 2 hours, looking around different machines and seeing how the miners used to work years ago. Inside it’s like a time machine, you can get a sense on how the time passed, how the machines and mining techniques evolved in almost 100 years of history. If you forget to bring a jacket or coat, one will be provided since it’s about 10°C (50°f) inside.

Great tour of an underground iron mine showing the history of mining in the local area. Ride an ore train into the mine and walk through the galleries. Audio guides in a number of languages included with the ticket. Stroller and kid friendly. Bring a jacket since it is 10 deg C in the mine.

Leuk museum, helaas was er geen Nederlandse of Engelse gids aanwezig en kregen we een audiotour, de gids liep zo snel dat de audiotour het niet kon bijhouden.

I really liked the whole museum, because of the friendly guide who told everything about mining and about the life of the workers.

Very disappointing, arrived and it was closed!
Looked at the Web site just before leaving, and no mention of closures, except when it was supposed to be. The news page on the website appeared up to date too
