The worst airport ever. Our flight was delayed for 3 hours and then canceled. All the information acording to that situation was only in Lithuanian. You had to come personally to the staff asking for information in English. The saff is not competent, didn't know how to react and what to do in that kind of situation. Couldn't provide any information about further action. We didn't get any kind of help. In result we were left by ourselves at 3am. Definitely, not coming to this airport ever again. The low prices for tickets are not worth this
I was flying around from this airport for past 3 years and never was disappointed until my last flight where the customs went almost throughout my whole baggage and lost my stuff this isn't acceptable at any circumstances. This airport needs to fix up their team because the things I’ve lost had private information on it and when they went through it the communication in-between wasn’t nice at all. Rather choose flights from any other airport since this incident.
Staff is miserable. Especially at baggage check. No smiles, no thank yous, no hellos. I was not expecting this. I was in a lot of different airports and seriously was not expecting this. They took my empty bottle asked me mean DOES THIS LOOK EMPTY TO YOU and threw it away. Were is your humanity people?
My favourite airport in Lithuania. Small, cosy, contemporary, easy to find, friendly staff. Food / shoppig very limited.
Service speed might depend on the destination: those flying to Schengen countires (e.g Denmark) usually go through checks faster, and those flying to non-Schengen (e.g. UK) go through in a slower manner.
Airport has a regular small bus connection with Palanga town.
This airport has a service level closer to the Soviet Union than to the European Union. It all starts with no public transport to and from the nearby city of Liepaja. Then you find out that there is no chance of any service level improvement because they can not even install signage so travellers can know how to get in to the airport. Just about every traveller is walking up and down the front of the airport trying to find the correct access. Then once you are inside there is no heating in the pre flight waiting area!!
Exceptional staff! Due to bursted tyre (roadworks Latvian style) failed to arrive before gate is closed. Arrived just 27 minutes before departure time with almost no hope to be admitted fo board the aircraft. Check in was already closed so I went to security check and explained the situation. They have arranged everything for me to be able to join the flight! Thanks again for your help and understanding!!!
Small, good organised airport. parking outside 15 min free, make sure that you leave area before that time otherwise you have to go and pay for extra time. Citybe car sharing app cars are also parked here, by far cheapest way to get to the city (download app register, check availability reserve and drive) otherwise expensive taksi is available (around 45eur to Klaipeda). Bus stop is also there but not too great. Also a small bus service (bus-taksi) available. Long term parking near to the airport.
Google Maps incorrectly takes one to a dirt road on the back side of the airport. This is the second time it has done this. Maps should never take one down the road called Paliepginiu kl. They probably need to hard wire the street Liepojos pl.
Very Nice, Very Quick Through Check-In, Security and Passport Control, Only Like 10 To 15 Minutes.
Airport has AVGAS 100LL and very friendly ground staff. ATC is really nice as well. We felt welcome with our small General Aviation aircraft (group of Cessnas etc).
Small tidy airport, surprisingly friendly staff. Slightly overpriced
Pasport control wait times are absolutely ridiculous
Small airoport, was waiting 5 hours for the flight, very bad supervising, nobody was inside at the airoport, from the staff for 2hours ,i seen first time in my life like this.
very small airport, long waiting for checking, expensive short term parking
Small, good organised airport.
