It is housed in the restored 19th-century Tiškevičiai Palace and is surrounded by the Palanga Botanical Garden. The museum's collection of amber comprises about 28,000 pieces, of which about 15,000 contain inclusions of insects, spiders, or plants. About 4,500 pieces of amber are exhibited; many of these are items of artwork and jewelry.

Informative and pretty display, a must if amber is a hobby. Some historical artifacts from the 17 and 18 century are on display as well. Easily worth the entrance fee.

Very interesting and beautiful place. Museum is located in the middle of the large park in a mansion or even palace like building. Exposition is very large and interesting. And in the end there is a little ship within crafts of real Amber.

A wonderful historical palace of a noble Tiškevičius family. On the first floor you will find a display of the once contemporary furniture, paintings and tapestries, while on the second floor you will discover displays of the varieties of amber, it's genesis, use, and beautiful creations of well known Lithuanian jewelers. Well worth visiting.

I'm not big museum person but the amber museum was still interesting. At the first floor there was mainly old furniture, paintings etc, so nothing really for me. But the second floor gave a good overview about amber.
Best part were the little critters who had got stuck in the amber. You could look those amber pieces with magnifying glass and see all the details.
Museum isn't very big but considering the low price of the ticket, i would recommend to have a look!

Great place to see while being in Palanga, especially when the weather isn't too hot. Amber exhibition isn't very big, but still very beautiful. And the garden!!!! It is so lovely. Highly recommended to visit along with your family and friends :)

Great experience, a lot to see and a great price for everyone. Can easily spend an hour exploring, learning and looking at the exposition. Recommended place to visit while being in Palanga.

The amber exhibition is not that dramatic as advertised albeit well organized and laid out. The insect and plant collection is the most interesting part. Poor selection in the gift shop, overpriced too. National identity apparently doesn't allow for exhibit signs to include Russian language translations. That despite the fact that most of the visitors are speaking Russian.
