Years back, I hit this place upon a bicycle tour. I have been starting at the island Rügen, took the ferry from Sassnitz.
Once I have been arriving at Klaipeda
The customs officer spoke German "Willkommen". But common people are not interested in tourism. Only Russians are welcome. Today it is a transit country for Russians going home from Kaliningrad.
I followed a sign " bike path to Nida - 50 kilometers. Ended in a dead end.
Back to road: very dangerous. The Russians seems to be in continuos hurry. The are hardly speeding.
