Very sad view. Nothing has been changed/improved since over 20 years ago. That's a good place to see how captivity looks like. Half the animals aren't even present-empty cages.

Nice zoo in the center of Kaunas. Especially the different levels are original. Animals have nice and spacious living spaces which are well maintained and clean. There are several places to sit with children and to eat or drink something. Ticket prices are not expensive.

Many interesting animals to see, we had a good time here. Entry is not very expensive, but fun is for several hours. Walking up and down the hill was a little tiring, maybe they could do something about that. We also did not see some of the animals because they were still in their cages. For that reason I recommend you come after lunch hours, not in the morning. Many of the animals are still asleep during morning time

If you live in Kaunas, probably a good place to spend time with kids. Thought a lot of place to improve: more spieces of animals and better conditions for them, more interactive shows for visitors. Price is reasonable for what you ger here and comparing to other zoo's

They are lacking funds so it looks like animal concentration camp. I think the story is over, we should stop using animals for our amusement.

Good value, but can tell the zoo is in need of funds and backing. The place itself is good, large, trees everywhere, but enclosures are a tad small and some empty just laying there. Maybe they should join a few to make larger enclosures. Still worth a visit, the only place I've seen which has a snow leopard!! Hence the 4 stars. Hope people back it going forward.

They are doing the best they can with the money they have! On Christmas day I've seen no less than 10 staffers taking care of the animals. It lacks modernisation and English translations, but considering their budget they're doing well.

Been there 25 years ago. Seems like nothing has changed since. I had lovely memories associated with it. Only now it got worse. Dirty, and stinky. Cages, buildings, fences look disgusting. Cages for some animals are so tiny that I can only imagine how depressing it must be to be an animal of such zoo. Many animals don't look like they have been looked after well. Bears have disappeared (moved somewhere else or died. No idea). What a disappointment! There are foxes where the bears used to be instead. The zoo clearly needs an investment.

Huge. But animals are far away. Feeding times are not well advertised. Great for a day away, but not so great for short visits.
