What a great improvement! I've seen this Airport change over the years and I have to admit - now I am quite very proud to fly from there. Spacious waiting areas, well stocked shops, upgraded cafes, very pleasant. Although, staff should be better and more conscious about their customer service, but with time they'll get it :)
A small airport with fast security check. Everything here is simple and clear, there is a duty free shop. Staff seems nice, at least was to me. The only thing I didn't enjoy as much is the boarding procedure. I was flying with Raynier and the staff checked tickets, let everyone trough the gate, but then the huge line formed there. They let us stand in a narrow corridor all cramped up and the people kept piling up. It wasn't very unpleasant, but still they could either redo that corridor, or let people go out to the plain right away after passing the gate.
The staff here were generally rude and unhelpful. Every question seemed to inconvenience them so much that I eventually stopped asking for help and called my airline instead. ONE employee in particular was truly quite shockingly rude. EGLE, a waitress in the cafe on the ground floor, needs to understand that she works in a customer service industry and learn basic people skills. Criticizing customers for not speaking a particular language (English instead of Lithuanian) and literally laughing a them for changing their order is fundamentally unprofessional and degrading. Everyone in the line was clearly uncomfortable and quite shocked by the way she was acting. What a disgusting woman.
I am a British citizen and was in Kaunas visiting my wife and child who were there for a few days. I returned today on the afternoon Ryanair flight to Luton. Whilst I am very grateful to immigration officers for checking my passport, I, like all passengers, are entitled to be treated with dignity and respect. First this female officer was sending text messages on her mobile phone as I approached the desk. I smiled and wished her a good afternoon which was ignored. She then proceeded to conduct an inordinately long verification check of my passport whilst scowling at me and conferring with her colleague. Eventually she returned my British passport saying something in Lithuanian. I later found out that she had said "Here you are". You can project authority and still be polite and professional. Why such open hostility and disrespect?
Recently renovated. Small yet convenient airport. There is a coffee shop, two duty free shops - before and after the passport check. If you want perfume, there is a bigger selection before the check. There are two massage chairs in the lounge upstairs. There is also a smoking area after all checks yet women toilet stinks of cigarettes, so it would be worthy for the aiport staff to check the ventilation system
Amazing. Kaunas is great! Easy to navigate, nice staff, very swift! I'd recommend it if you consider driving to somewhere from Kaunas.
Staff are nice and look after you well when coming in private plane.you come thru very fast out and on the way out you go thru fast thru security etc.. recomend all to fly private
I will talk about the temporary airport which is quite decent for its purpose BUT it was soooo cold ( as it is basically open from everywhere). They could have done something better.
I don't know what is happening here but it's absolutely awful. No duty free shops after passport control, only two same bakeries on different floors and huge open empty space? I know that's it's undergoing construction but still. The banners in airport says that Kaunas became "Lithuanias flight capital" for one month? Well, than it's quite poor capital in all senses. Very bad, very bad.
Great airport. More convenient, clean and faster then Vilnius airport. Hope Kaunas airport will get more flights
An hour to handle one flight? This is unacceptable.. Been to Kaunas Airport many times before and it has never taken that long to get past the arrival. Will choose Vilnius or Riga instead
This airport has one "duty free shop" placed near the gates and after the security control. Surprisingly, the prices are not tax free! All products sold there are offered at full tax-included prices and they are even higher than in the supermarkets in Vilnius!
Expanding real fast! :)
Very small airport. Going to be a big challenge for it durirng upcoming 2017 summer.
Small airport, not so busy but still nice and clean.
