Clean, cheap, friendly in the heart of old town. Near pubs, bars, shops, museums, tourist information. I was in 3 bed private room sharing bathroom and toilet in separate building to main hostel. clean spacious. Beds v comfortable. In main hostel big kitchen with lounge and small bar £3 beer/cider. Breakfast is free waffles till 12pm and fruit tea or coffee.
This hostel was easily one of my favorites! It was really cozy, the prices were cheap, and they went out of their way to show everyone there a good time, gave suggestions for what to do, and hung out with us during their shifts. It felt like staying with a bunch of friends even though you haven't met anyone there. They offer free breakfast, free coffee (or upgrades for a euro), beer, sheets and towels if needed, and you don't even have to leave after you "check out", which is more like saying goodbye vs having a formal check out process.
I will definitely stay again when I get the chance!
For the price is it okay took a long time to get checked in with a lot of miscommunication with the receptionist. Storage lockers are broken and security alarms went off constantly. Common room is nice area to hang out in. Stay didn’t help with a very drunk traveller in the room with us
Initial thoughts were ok then we were taken to our room. Unfortunately for us we were put in the neighbouring building. Our 5 bed room was tiny, storage was a nightmare and charging had to be done out of the lockers.
The bathrooms and toilets didn’t appear to have even cleaned during the 2 nights we stayed and the shower cubicles were smelly.
If you’re lucky enough to be put in the main building it might be good value for money but I feel we didn’t get our money’s worth in our room.
Great hostel in the very middle of the touristic city center. Within walking distance from the main attractions, bars, restaurants and supermarkets. The street is well lit at night and I felt very safe even when walking alone at night. The staff is absolutely amazing. Very nice and helpful. Every morning from 9 to 12 you can have free waffles at the common room. The room I stayed in was very spacious with big lockers and had a bathroom. Beds are comfortable and have a small curtain so you can have some privacy. The pillow wasn't great but it's not a big deal for just a couple of nights. I really recommend this hostel. ;)
Great hostel. Comfy beds, friendly staff, decent free breakfast, daily social events and good central location.
Enter through a small door in a bigger gate to this comfy place with a nice atmosphere. It kind of feels like your second home after a few nights. Places were clean, common areas were nice and kitchen was well-equipped.
But - they didn't provide towels to the quests on arrival. When I asked for one, they said they are renting them for 1€. It's not a bad price, but I've been to tens of hostels, including even cheaper ones, and not once has any of those charged for a towel rental. I'm a man of principle and dried myself with my clothes, rather than paying.
Also, their "waffle breakfast" is just two small waffles made from the cheapest ingredients, but at least the lovely staff prepares them for you by request. I never saw anyone having more than two waffles and didn't bother to ask for more myself. For toppings there's just two kinds of jam.
In the kitchen, all the knifes were so dull that you couldn't even cut a soft tomato, alone chicken with them.
But I'll end my review in positivity, saying that the hostel is unique with all it's artworks, was on a perfect location, the staff were sweet and helpful and I would stay there again!
On a pedestrian street off the town hall. €1 towels. The usual expat crowd and ubiquitous waffle b-fast. Entrance through a very short door.
There is a guy here who is a caricature of the drunk Englishman. If there is a door he can bump his head against, he will. He forgets his door codes at 3 in the morning and buzzes the entire hostel. He has that over exuberance and uncomfortable enthusiasm for the most banal of topics. Everything he says you agree with and everything you say he is poised to take offense at.
One of this type I encountered at Amsterdam, while we discussed our mutual unintelligibility, shouted at me that what I speak is "the Queen's English". What he meant I'm still pondering.
Too much of hype with high ratings. This was a noisy hostel mainly because it was hosting a lot of people. As the bathrooms and toilets were shared by a number of people, they were not so clean. The social space was also very small.
However, the hostel is in the heart of the city. They also provide free waffles for breakfast. Mostly importantly, I am very much pleased with the staff behaviour. They are very helpful. I had to leave early morning at 6. I was taken aback when one of the staff members said that she could make waffles for me if I needed, despite being so early in the morning. I said 'no', but that gesture really impressed me.
Often I just need a comfortable bed for sleep and minimal hassle, but Jimmy's offers so much more. When I had a flight problem and needed some direction, a phone call to the staff on duty pointed me where I'd find the service I needed. Gindere (sp?) helped with that and, once I'd arrived, she provided great information about the city and everything I needed to know about my stay there.
I'm 64, bringing up the average age of the guest population quite a bit, and though I'm pretty tolerant and flexible, too much nonsense can make things unpleasant for me. The very special thing about this place is that all the younger guests manage to keep having all the fun they want while the quieter crowd can still be very content and comfortable. That's a difficult trick, and the management and staff have clearly figured out how to pull it off.
Great job, Jimmy Jumps!
Best hostel I've ever stayed in so far. Very nice staff. Great, family like, atmosphere. Would always recommend and come back!
It is a great hostel. Organize pub crawls or karaoke or something every night free walking tour. Good international guests. Clean bathrooms and curtains on most beds. Power plugs in lockers. Nice location 15 minute walk to train 1 hour walk from airport. Can do laundry. 😚
Loved it! Thanks for a great nights stay!
This is one of THE BEST hostels i have stayed at in Europe, the staff are pleasant and friendly, the atmosphere sets it apart from any other place I have stayed.
Great beds, and bathrooms. I liked how people had to take off their shoes before entering, it makes you feel comfortable and at home.
Can't recommend this place enough!
A cool hostel in Vilnius. Would recommend staying here. Easy to meet travellers.
Liked the hostel. It has two parts: one is main and has dorms and the other has private rooms. Anyways, this area with private rooms could be a bit improved. Cleanliness of the bathroom especially. This building is old, with old-style bathroom which tends to become smelly. Also, the private rooms are poorly decorated: nothing except beds inside and some wardrobe from 1940's. Reminds me of dorms in military.
The location is awesome. The place is clean, cool, comfortable and the staff is nice. The only problem is that they have only 2 showers and the WiFi doesn't work in the rooms upstairs. Apart from that it's perfect. I'd go back, for sure.
