I think this place is good for young people to understand the past, the life and environment, political situation and everything of their parents lives. Was good.

Labai išpūstos reputacijos ir pervertinta vieta. Neidomu nei vietiniams, nei užsieniečiams. Niekas šiais laikais nenori skaityti ilgu is Vikipedijos istrauktu biografiju. O angliški tekstu vertimai irgi liūdnos kokybes. Nesuprantama man kodėl moketi €7.50 uz nuobodu pasivaiksciojima po mišką. Idejus truputį pastangų ir fantazijos galima būtų sukurti dešimt kartų įdomesnį ekspozicijos apipavidalinimą.

a good place to spend time with your family. Older people will be able to remember those times, and younger ones will play in the playground. I liked the cafe and advised you to take care of the guide, it will be much more interesting. Far away from Vilnius

Beautiful park to walk around and get acquainted
with Soviet monuments. There is a mini zoo , amusement park for kids, caffe and souvenir shop offering a lot of stuff from Soviet century.response / report this review -

Gruto parkas is an experience you should have. They have a done a very nice job with the exhibits and helping teach about what it was like to have soviets take over. I especially liked the indoor exhibits with the newspapers from the time of soviet takeover. Very informative.

Very interesting park in beautiful settings. Lovely walk looking at old USSR art that was removed from the whole country after independence.
The cafeteria is also worth a stop. Here you will find old dishes from Soviet times, served with "theme" bowls.
The combination of smoked Sprats (fish), raw onions and a glass of vodka is certainly unusual.
For kids they have a small private zoo and a very good play area.response / report this review -

A wonderful 2-3 hours attraction for the whole family.It's not just a bunch of old soviet statues. It's a whole historic route laid down in a park with a small zoo and swings for children.Light walk in the park will lead you through the real soviet epocha, you will feel it in the air. And when you get tired- a soviet style restaurant with waiters- pioneers is waiting for you.

One of the most controversial places I have ever visited. There are many monuments dedicated to people, who fought for what they thought was righteous, but it turned out that they were on the wrong side of history. In Austria, where I live, we usually refer to the Red Army as well as to the Americans or British as those who put an end to the "brown plague" of nazism and brought freedom from it to the Europe. This park tells the different story about the Soviets. Lithuanians saw them as villaneous as the nazis or Armia Krajowa, for they wanted nothing else but freedom and independence, which resulted in rapes and plundering by the Red Army in Lithuania. Fortunately, now Lithuania has removed the statues of those who supported the crimes from the streets and moved them here, so that the younger generation remembers what was happening during that time and always keeps in mind, that every glorious story has its own dark side. So impressed!

If you're in the area definitely worth visiting, still I am not sure about the concept. While you get a good impression about sovjet reign and terror 45-91, there is some improvement potential regarding the historical comments, at least in English.
Furthermore, I don't really understand, why there needs to be a Zoo with Emus, Lamas, four Brownbears, etc. attached. Makes me wonder..
Disappointing though that the souvenirs shop was closed.response / report this review -

Absurd place, in a positive way. Soviet propaganda and monuments everywhere here. You should visit and reserve 2 hours for it.
