Description

Touch Roots Africa (TRA) is a non-profit making organisation (Company Limited by Guarantee) and was registered under the Companies Act 1967, in 2004.

The organisation was established to respond to the growing demand throughout Lesotho and the South African Region for skills in caring for and supporting the growing number of orphaned and vulnerable children resulting from HIV/AIDS and poverty.

We are a training organisation with specific expertise in Child Protection, Psychosocial Support, Advocacy and Organisational Development.

We can provide training and consultancy to Community Based Organisations, Non-Governmental Organisations (NGO's), Schools and Government Departments.

Our work is currently funded by a number of organisations, specifically, Firelight Foundation; the Stephen Lewis Foundation, the Open Society for Southern Africa and Global Fund and by income generated by charges for our services. Overtime we are looking to develop as a social enterprise so that as an organisation we are sustainable and self sufficient, able to achieve our goals.
