You need to have designated separate times for swimming lessons and leisure swimming so that every member gets a chance to enjoy their membership. The state of play currently is that a swimming coach and his learners monopolize the pool. Even when there are designated lanes he spreads his swimmers across all lanes meaning those who can already swim and are trying to get a good workout or just a meditative swim in, simply cannot. The pupils are jumping in from the sides, thrashing about all over the pool, and the coach never respects the designated lanes.

Infact, I get the distinct impression he is quite annoyed to have already confident swimmers come in and swim continously for a workout, particularly a woman. It appears that women being more competent at something than a man and one making people pay for lessons, is intimidating...He scowlded at me from the sidelines. He and his friends crossed lanes disrupting my laps, and he even pushed a pupil into the pool as I was completing a lap. This fully grown woman narrowly missed landing on my head as I emerged for a breath.

He could have broken my neck. And it was intentional and malicious. I could see the disappointment in his face at the near miss. I lodged a complaint, the duty manager spoke to him and reminded him to stay to his teaching lanes and not to push people into the pool. The next day he was back to the very same behaviour.

This is how women are run out of spaces for exercise and excluded from taking care of their health, because bullies are allowed to monopolize spaces.

Women's month just ended. Do better this swimming season Lehakoe. Manage swimming times and lanes properly. Do not allow overcrowding. Do not allow one segment of the membership to dominate the use of the pool to the detriment of others. Have a zero tolerance stance on reckless and dangerous behaviour in the club space, particularly from staff or a supposed 'coach' and particularly in the pool. If I had been injured or died because of his bullying and malicious actions the club's apology would not have restored my life or limb. Please take this very seriously management because you have a potentially very dangerous situation. Please rectify it before someone is maimed or killed.

The majority of staff members are absolutely lovely. Took me a while to navigate the gym but it's great to have a pool close by for a swim. Kids can only enter the pool during restricted hours (08:30hrs to sometime in the afternoon, I think from memory 15:30 or a bit after, best to check with staff).

Pool is clean, equipments plenty. Lots of courts (bball, tennis, squash) for a game. Only minor gripe would be the debris on the floor of the pool can occasionally cut your feet if not careful.

The Lehakoe Club is one All-rounder! From gymn facilities to hosting of events, you are sure to receive the best the place can give. Meals in the facility are mouth watering and neatly prepared. While they serve multitudes each day, you are going to love their plates 7/10 of time. I can recommend to anyone who wishes to hold an event or anyone who wishes to hit the gymn.

The gym: EXCELLENT, olympic size pool, all cardio machines, all weight lifting machines, and apparently some classes. Big, clean, & modern. All day-hours except for on Sundays, which are mornings only.

The staff: Don't expect much, staff are completely unhelpful and no trainers. Lots of 'rules' that pop up each time I visit: (1) make sure you have a towel (otherwise they will make you buy their towel), (2) don't bring anything with you (no bags allowed and no locks provided); (3) day pass is 75 rands.

First class gym facilities in the heart of Maseru. Well maintained and amazingly equipped.

Very professional. Clean and neat. Change rooms might need an upgrade to more space but other than that.. the gym, pool and squash courts are top class

Great facility, friendly staff but poor service. I will not recommend that you use the facility for your important meetings. Very poor catering services and if you are planning a meeting that involves meals do so at your own risk. I never to eat at Lehakoe no matter what. The outdoor pool has been closed for years with what appears to be maintenance work

Yes! The Lehakoe Club and Gym is one of the finest developments in Lesotho, and only in the context of the country’s Status Quo. I used to gym here every December and January whenever I visited the country and couldn’t really commit long term because of my other commitments out here. It’s a really nice gym located right next to the Central Bank of Lesotho and the Police Headquarters. The facilities are great and the ambiance is quite refreshing. They offer various packages to different markets but from where they started, they’re really becoming more and more unaffordable for locals. I guess their entry price plan wasn’t working for them after a while so they switched everything up a bit. But they do try to put their money where their mouths are. Their premises are very clean and they imported quite expensive facilities into the country and they seem to be very professional about their gym services.

If you’re gonna be in town for some time and you seriously can’t live without going to the gym every couple of days then this would be my first recommendation, and only if you’re not already staying at a hotel that offers gym facilities. Get your life together and be an advocate for a healthier life in Lesotho. More and more Basotho got to be exposed to the knowledge and notion of heading to the gym.
