Great facility but totally under utilised, like a ghost town.
Awsome place to explore
Remote, unique with interesting rock formations.
Excellent indigenous flowers in dramatic rocky and grassland countryside. Short strolls to the flowers, tarns, rock formations and longer hikes to the top of the high Drakensberg and as far as you want. Accommodation is camping next to a dam and stream, with only a flushing toilet for ablutions. One can also sleep in caves after a short hike.
The dirt road is all weather. A car will get there but a pickup is probably robust enough.
Note that the flowers, best in December to February, are at the camp next to Leabua Jonathan Lodge an hour's drive from the entrance. The campsite at the new, but incomplete, lodge 1.5km from the reception has more modest mountain scenery and few flowers.
There are plans to establish a biodiversity museum in the former Leabua Jonathan lodge and a history museum at the new lodge 1.5km from the entrance / reception.
People hike, or ride horses hired from Khotso Trails, up from Bushmansnek in South Africa.
This place is so beautiful
Hoba ke had lakai like my country Lesotho
Lesotho land of our forefathers
Amongst other lands, the most precious it is.
Very nice place with very poor service.it has a big touch of south african influance.will not go again.
I enjoyed myself there!
Magnificent landscape, well-built lodge, very basic services and unprofessional staff. In a cold winter night with sub-zero temperature, it was very hard, with no light and no basic heating. But worth an adventure if you don't care about the quality of services.
