Nice location with good beach view and garden. Low priced with average breakfast. The hotel requests a 11.00 am checkout and does not accommodate requests for late checkout. More focused on long stay tourist.

The place name is pronounced as ipsilorn (ඉප්සිලෝන්). Belongs to a German lady, that why it has a difficult to pronounce name for Sri. Lankans. (got those details from the reception counter).
After reaching the point which Google maps shows you, just follow the arrows placed on the walls to the right side, to reach the entrance to the hotel.
Atmosphere is very pleasant. Friendly staff. Even though room service was not available in the night, they were able to send their security guards for room service because we had an mild emergency with the baby. Got ourselves a room which is having a beautiful view of the beach and the Beruwala Light House.
Extra food and beverages charges are somewhat high. For example, a normal sprite bottle was charged Rs.242/= (with service charges). The main reason could be, their main target customers being foreigners.
We were the only sinhala couple to be at the hotel. While having dinner, I waited till my wife had dinner with our baby. Our baby was drawing attention to another couple who were sitting next to our table. They were expecting a baby (4 months) , and they were very much thrilled to see our baby up close. Had a lovely chat with them for a while, and I couldn't ask there names or their country. I'm sure we will meet again someday!
Lunch, Dinner, breakfast, was fabulous.
The reasons for giving 4 stars are, there was no phone to contact the reception from the room, no TV, the room key chain didn't had the plastic power key which is essential to power the room; so I had to go to the reception and ask for a key.response / report this review -

Best place to spend Holidays. Love it. Good food, Friendly Staff. Massage, Ayuruweda. Scuba Diving.Best view. Everything at one place. Reasonable price. I'd absolutely recommend this place to anyone.

Been there for scuba diving in October 2016.
Diving is quite expensive and the they ask after to pay for tuk-tuk pick up with expensive prices
Diving materials are not in good shape, boat as well
I had a malfunction on the scubadiving material (manometer with 50bars difference) run out of air before doing the secure deco stop).
No excuses from the team, nor explanations they just don"t care about your experience neither you life.
No real interest on the diving sites

Chilled place. Rooms by the beach and the restaurant has good seafood. We also did massage at their ayurvedic center and it was good. However the room we got had no AC and it was a very humid night. Good value for the price we paid.

I was in this nice little hotel 30 years ago with my wife and kids . We realy enjoyed the beach and the hospitality of the German owner.
