This is the first (and perhaps only) the water/fish park in Sri Lanka. They have recently added another section to include birds. However, some sections of it are still under construction. The park tickets are reasonably priced and it takes about 2 hours to see the park. During school days the park is usually crowded with many school children visiting the park. During those days parking can also be a challenge. If not you have free parking spaces adjacent to the main entrance. But off-street parking can be found easily. The cafeteria has minimum facilities. Better have some of your own food. The children play area and toilets need improvements. The management seem to be very responsive to the suggestions/issues I raised through their FB page on the facility upgrades.

This place called as "Water park Kelaniya". This is the only public aquarium in Sri Lanka so far. This place has a diverse collection of over 500 varieties of fish and invertebrates.
This place has 3 main features. Water world, Bird Park and Underwater Sea Tunnel. This the first “Under Water Tunnel Aquarium” in South Asia. Tunnel is about 30 feet long. Views are good and somewhat worthy to watch. Bird park they have is relatively new.
Also no proper place for dining here. Customer care is average.

Something I think, space is not enough for the fish here. Also they should concern about lighting facilities for the fish. Those 2 facts made me to give this place 3 stars instead of 4.
They have a car park for parking with enough space.
No wheelchair accessible entrance or wheelchair accessible parking available.

Worth the visit if you have kids, you can easily spend half a day here. It is not that great if you compared to Singapore and Malaysian aquariums, but is much better maintained and nicely done. Kids will definitely enjoy. There is a small canteen inside also for juice and snacks.

Water Wold Lank is located in Colombo Biyagama Road Kaleniya area. It has nice collection of Fish around the world. Many fish tanks with different types. There is a nice underwater tunnel as well. Lighting is not appropriate and some tanks are really small for the fish they contain. Parking space is not sufficient. Good place for a half a day especially for kids.

We visited Water World Last week with my kid,and He love that place. Nice collection of Fish around the world. There is a nice underwater tunnel as well. Well maintained and some construction still going on birds section.

Worth place to visit. Interesting place with lots of varieties of fishes around the world. It takes around 2 and half hours to visit the entire place. The owners have taken much effort to give the visitors an interesting experience with different activities. The under water tunnel is just 10m long ride. But can revisit the place repeatedly.

You will find large number of different types of fish here. But bird types are fairly limited. Underwater tunnel is also a great place with different experience. Play area is also available for kids.

A place good to spend them times for all ages .also if can reduce the amount of entrance fees it'll more helpful for all.
Its more high rate. If it be a 100/= and 50/= ,then most helpful for all because,this is not for a single or couple enjoying things,also this is useful for whole family. So how could have tickets to all family,if the rates are more than 200/=

A privately owned aquarium + bird park + leisure park. main attraction is the fish which are bought all over from the world. Lighting is not appropriate and some tanks are really small for the fish they contain. General maintenance seems to be below average. Pricing is reasonable and you only have to buy tickets for entrance. a Mini under water tunnel , a bird park and a small kid's play area is there. Parking and rest areas could be a issue if you visit on a crowded time (which might be a rare occasion).
Bird cages are covered with very small-holed nets, hence birds can't be seen clearly. (perhaps due to locals feeding the birds unnecessary things)
Must see if you have time.
takes about 3 to 4 hours to enjoy.

It's a very nice collection of aquarium fish. Many fish tanks with different types and kinds of fresh water fish as well as sea fish from all around the globe. Full of colourful, strange, bizarre, fish and other sea and fresh water creatures. Some tanks are breathtaking that you can't take your eyes off them. The arrangements and layout also is very good. A play ground for kids and a Food outlet is inside. There are some varieties of beautiful birds too. But all the cages are made of double layers of iron nets making it so hard to see through. Anyway it really is a nice experience spending few hours there.

Had a great day at the water world. A great variety of fishes. And also they have birds too. Had a great time there. The entrance tickets are so cheap as well. More like £3😬 definitely a great place and kids would love it there. And also there’s a sitting area over looking the river. Such a beautiful place.

This place has the one and only tunnel aquarium in Sri Lanka. It is small but it is good. In addition to fish , birds are also there. But place is bit crowded and I think if can allocate more space for visitors then it is good. In addition no enough car park.

One of the good place to visit with family. Aquarium is nice. Bird cage structures make disturbance to view Birds properly. Parking area coordinators not help to customers for parking their vehicle and also they are not take liability on their jobs.

Good Place to visit with your family and spend the day. Lots of fishes and birds to watch. Place is also beautiful. Children park with some play items are also available. The go through tunnel is good but not much attractive. Parking is little bit difficult since their parking space is limited. But you can find a place from nearby private property.

Its a good place to spend a holiday or a weekend with your family. There are lots of birds and mainly there are live fish. Even I never saw previously. But I never agree with caging or tanking any kind of animal because they loose their freedom to improve our knowledge or make someone a rich man. So think about it.

There is a nice tunnel in length close to 20 meters to watch shark. This is the only place i visited in Sri Lanka with such tunnel. Rest of the Aquarium garden is also good.

Cool place to visit for kids, families and fish pet lovers. Well maintained tanks and a water tube also available. Nothing much to see in the bird Park though.

I went with my family and friends to this aquarium and bird sanctuary near Kelaniya temple which was one the places visited by Lord Buddha on his visit to Sri Lanka. There was quite a variety of fish from jelly fish to many others. There was no guide available and website says educational tours are available. Some information was provided in multiple languages nearby. Water tunnel was too short, 30 feet long, but you can repeatedly go through it. Limited types of fish were there in the tunnel.

Bird Park is also worth to visit, next to the water world. However, through half inch wire mesh it was really hard to see the beauty of birds. I couldn’t capture at least one bird in the park. One reason would be that to stop feeding by visitors.

Limited parking facilities and I didn’t see enough security provided by the management. Cafeteria running understaff with limited choices. If you are going with kids better well prepared.

Good place for school educational trips. There's children play ground too. There are so many fish but less birds. Under water tunnel is not that much long. But you can spend all the day if you like from 1 ticket.

Great place to spend the day. Good fish and bird collection. good out door sitting space with trees. children play area. canteen with few food options but healthy. Book shop with good collection. can bring out side food. clean environment and air. Recommend for spend day. Not adventurous.
