  This is the biggest tank found in Western province.
  This was found to be a nice place few decades before. However, as this was paid less attention, whole vicinity is destroyed due to man made activities.
  There was a good bio diversity, however only few remains now. The blocking out of lands as reach the tank bunt even. No, reservation in all sides of the tank.
  
  There are two different stories about the person who built this. One set says this this was built by King, Veerabahu and another set says this was built by King Raigambandara. Whoever, built this, this is serving all farmers there and serving few other mini tanks as well.
  There are three gates, which is open to three channels and serve 350 aches even now. The tank bunt is about 1000.
  There's a believe that there was another channel, under ground which supplied water to the pool in Pathahawatha temple.
  
  A nice leisure place in and around Colombo. If anyone visit there, better to visit Pathahawatta Temple, .which is about 200 m away from this tank.

  This is a man-made lake which has a history going back to 1500 AD. A good place to take pictures and for relaxation. You can come by a vehicle for this place.
