N0 1 ranked University in Sri Lanka located in Colombo. Has nine faculties. Before declared as university, it started as the university college. University doesn’t have a swimming pool yet but the alumni organization has got together to initiate a project to build a swimming pool. However other sports facilities And places are available.

One of the best university in Sri Lanka. Wide area of Degree and Master courses available. The oldest University in Sri Lanka, the University of Colombo is a complex located in the centre of the capital city of Colombo,With its motto “Buddhi Sarvathra Bhrajate”, Sanskrit for “Wisdom Enlightens”, the University of Colombo capable to maintain academic excellence in all areas of study. The University of Colombo consist 8 Faculties with 43 Academic Departments, a Campus, a School, 7 Institutes and several Centres and Units. Several undergraduate and postgraduate study courses in the fields of Arts, Science, Medicine, Management, Finance, Law, Education, IT, Aesthetic Studies. Molecular Biology etc.. are conducted by the University. The University offers several other services, such as library service, career guidance, and services for special need students.
Student life is enhanced by a sport activities offered on campus. The playground and the gymnasium offer men and women the opportunity to exploit and develop their abilities to the fullest. The Arts Theatre is often the arena for the dramatic/musical talents of student population.
Currently, the University of Colombo with a proud history of over 116 years continues in its endeavour to meet the challenge of maintaining its position as the “Metropolitan University, Modern and International in Outlook and Character”.
