Beautiful hidden boutique hotel by a lovely river. Service was excellent, everyone was so welcoming and friendly, and the food was exceptional. However, maintenance was lacking a lot..lots of room for improvement

The river house is paradise all to yourself. Secluded amazing views brilliant food. Surrounded by wildlife. Massive rooms with plunge pools. And a wonderful swimming pool. The staff are wonderful.

Visited this place yesterday and didn't even know that a place like this exists.. The atmosphere the relaxation and the good people who attend to all your needs and pleasant smiles from everyone and that spacious Suits which you can choose according to your needs.. Hands down got to go here often Visit this place you'll know what i'm talking about!!

One of the best places I have stayed at. Everything is a perfect blend of the beauty of Sri lankan culture and nature. The Staff is very courteous and helpful. I would highly recommend the River House to anyone looking to relax and unwind.

Very cozy place. Nice pool, very good food. Regardless of breakfast, lunch, or dinner. Beverages fairly priced. We stayed at the Gin Room, which is pretty hugh and air-conditioned. The bathroom is not, which wasn't a problem for us. From that you access your private jacuzzi. This is more a Plunge Pool, not heated and only four water jets. But you can ad hot water and have a shower as well. We preferred the outdoor pool. Very friendly stuff, helpful with all our needs.

With only 5 rooms it feels very private, the staff were friendly and helpful. Plenty of wildlife to see in the hotel grounds. Lovely remote and private location, not much for kids as the hotel has limited amenities - on the flip side perfect for couples.

I stayed over night with my friends at The River House and had one of the best experiences whilst staying there.
The grounds were stunning and you could step out of the room straight to the pool area, food was to die for and everything was spectacularly fresh!
We were treated like absolute royalty by the staff there who are warm, welcoming and exceptionally friendly. I would like to say a special thanks to the manager that took extra special care of us whilst we were there Vishudha Miguel. He checked in on regularly and ensured that we had the most delightful stay.
I FULLY recommend this location if you are looking for a peacefully and relaxing few days :)
