Used to have the best cakes in town, but then the quality dropped drastically. They've picked it up now, but still not up to the level of the glory days (when they were at Good Market). The service also went down and unfortunately stayed down. Staff routinely ignores customers, and sometimes act downright rude.
I really hope they fix these issues because I miss the great cakes they offered and their excellent service.
On the plus side, the new location is very spacious and open, although I think it could use a little bit more decide to lighten things up.

High Tea: Food is good and the range is well balanced. Staff and the manager is extremely nice!
You can get a private space for your family or friends and its basically very cool! Good place to spend some time!

The Cakery has been all time favorite dessert place of mine. They’ve now introduced a breakfast menu and also a high tea experience to their customers.
Tried their Passion Fruit Victoria Sandwich, Chocolate Cheesecake Tart and Gooey Chocolate Cake. The Victoria Sandwich is a British cake which was named after Queen Victoria simplicity at its best, sweet Passion Fruit on top and pillowy soft cream, which is sandwiched between two light and fluffy sponge cakes which was delicious and it was so good.
Chocolate lovers here we come. The Chocolate Cheesecake Tart was honestly a love at first sight. It’s one of the most irresistible desserts that I’ve tried and to be honest I was overwhelmed by the rich flavor and appearance. Every bite a perfect explosion of excellence and incredible taste and it didn’t disappoint me. The base of the tart was made with dark chocolate biscuit layer, the middle with a layer of creamy layer of cream cheese and the top was layered with chocolate mousse where the flavors were well balanced and decadent.The cream cheese and the chocolate mousse perfectly melts in your mouth. If you want to impress yourself, then this cake is the one for you to try. This is an all time favorite of mine.
The Gooey Chocolate cake was a cocoa-based cake which is deeply chocolaty and was a gooey mess. This was smothered with a cocoa buttercream frosting.
The Cakery hasn’t changed in terms of service and ambience. The place is massive with plenty of seating and they've also got an outdoor seating area with cement tables and benches. Upstairs on the balcony is another seating area decked out with giant blue umbrellas. The service here was okay and nothing to complain about and would recommend anyone to try their whole range of cakes.

Value for money high teaenough for more than the stated two people. Despite the name, they do serve savoury items as well, and have a nice range of beverages. Library upstairs can be booked in advance and is ideal for study groups.

Where do I start. The cake is, simply said, excellent. Soft and melt in your mouth goodness. I especially love the lemon tart as it is the perfect balance between sweet and sour.
The drinks are also really good. It ties for first place when it comes to the best hot chocolate in town. And the ginger beer is simply fantastic.
I was first introduced to all this yummy goodness at the Good Market. But I'm so glad that there's an outlet as well.

Good but not amazing

They have a variety of bagles, pan cakes, wrapps and waffles . Also a variety pf different cakes.

We had pan cakes , bagles and waffles . Pan cake was very tasty the smoke salmon filling was tasty but bagles was not.the greatest maybe I felt it was too spicy so its subjective. The waffle was very very tasty ,large too.

The service is very good. The boys working there are very polite and efficient . Very very spacious has couches and tables with chairs

Few negatives are, parking is difficult mostly aside the road. Also there is no tv or music so its kind of boring to be alone.

Price each dish is in the range of 500/= - 600/=

TECC hosts one of the best English High Tea's in Colombo. They have a variety of cakes, cheesecakes, tarts and savouries. And tea, coffee (hot/cold) as well as juice. I personally think that they should include more savory items for thier high tea selection but nevertheless they do have a decent selection. The place is live with soft background music. And has a comfy friendly atmosphere.

I've come number of times but today only good thing we got was tea. Waffle was watery and did not like the taste of the toast. Returnd the tost and they did not charge for the same also they waved off the cost of the tea. Good service but not so good food. Should stick to cake. They are good at it.

Great place for coffee & cake. The high tea was excellent with a lot of great options to choose from. The staff were very knowledgeable about what they served and their recommendations tasted great.
Service was fast & place was well maintained. Cannot recommend this place more highly.

Really enjoyed our server. He was right on about the cakes and savories he recommended. The sambal sandwiches were excellent as was the the squiggle cake, which was unknowingly gluten free, light, airy and delicious.
They have a spacious venue with multiple levels, including an air conditioned area for children. There is also An outside seating area.. every floor was very comfortable and welcoming. The only reason for the lower star rating was the lemon tart. The filling was very bitter. The service was very good and it was well worth the amount charged. A lovely find in Colombo..
