  This is the most famous Buddhist Temple in this area. This Temple is dedicated to the Prince Thaniyawallabha who was a Buddhist local leader. History says that Prince Thaniyawallabha fought against South Indian invaders and keep develop the economy of the native Sinhala Buddhists.
