I stayed here for two nights with a friend. The hotel is very central for all the cultural triangle sights, especially the cave temples which are 10 minutes walk away. The staff were super friendly and helpful (especially when I told them the wrong time for our flight and they stayed and picked us up anyway). Great vibes, really lovely staff and a great pool!

Great place. Very friendly staff, comfortable accommodation and good food. Good location for visiting the Dambulla cave temples and easy to visit Sigiriya and the national parks too.

Very nice stay here with very nice cocktails. My friends and I only stayed for 1 night but we're pleasantly surprised by how nice it was. The pool is nice though not suitable for lengths. The pool bar was luxurious and the cocktails were reasonably priced. The buffet was also very lovely even if there isn't a lot of variety (sri lankan based buffet). Definitely worth the stay.

Good size bedroom with good view and hotel close to Golden Temple. maintenance appeared poor however, with: divert valve that fell off the shower, drain that was also permanently blocked on shower base. Bedroom ceiling fan that was not working, the luggage stand was broken, doors were damaged and wifi was slow and intermittent. The pool looked cloudy in the evening when illuminated (probably as there were no pool showers), overgrown bushes near sunbeds. Restaurant area had a overwhelming drain odour, breakfast had limited choice and was poor (apart from the omelette). To finish on a plus note, the staff were very friendly.

In plus: very friendly and helpful staff, no problem with communication. Very nice pool with a pool bar. Room at 5th floor with beautiful view over the hills, lots of greenery, peaceful surroundings, fair quality beds and food. We loved relaxing at the hammocks and pool chairs. Charming atmosphere in the evening as well. The hotel is a bit far from the town but on the other hand, very near to the temple route, which we enjoyed.
Disadvantages: the rooms could have been better maintained -our room was overall clean and fine but we had ants in the bathroom and spotted some leaking AC at the balcony. Also some tiles near to the pool area and pool bar were missing and required some repairs.
All in all, we would gladly stay there again.response / report this review -

Enjoyable stay, good food and rooms, with helpful and warm staff. Make sure you get one of the rooms overlooking the pool as they are much nicer.

Anyone who loves to relax surrounded by trees should definitely spend a day here. You simply can't imagine it's just 500m from all the hustle and bustle.

We had such a great time in Sundaras resort! The management was more than helpful, especially Monika. The resort itself is a beautiful place to relax, have a delicious food or enjoy drinks on the bar. If you have any truble or request you can just ask at the reception and they will do their best to satisfiy your needs 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

Unorganised, average quality and expensive place. Completely avoidable! They don't have telephones in room or common areas so for anything you have to walk all the the way to lobby from the 3rd floor, since nobody can be found around the room area for service. Below average food. Mosquitoes all over the food. The chef sits around fiddling on his mobile while toasts burn and buffet items run empty!! They charge exorbitantly for everything without telling the price upfront and that they will charge for it. They also ask for additional money for using credit or card saying taxes without mentioning anywhere that taxes are extra. Overgrown vegetation all over the place - badly maintained. Difficult to spot from the road. Bad experience!

STAY WELL AWAY!!!
-curtains falling
- terrible bathroom floor design meant every shower ended up in a bathroom flood
- leaky toilet added to the flooding + bad smell
- construction work until 23:00 at night and next to a pool
- murky pool water
- Rubbishy club pop music blaring away every evening.Nothing to relax to!
-receptionist insisted I leave my luggage and they will take it to my room, 45 minutes later went back to reception to find luggage unattended where I left it
- no complimentary shower gel + body wash
- no bed nets even tho area is densely populated with bugs(needn't mention the danger of the existing dengue mosquitoes )
the only positive was the complimentary drink at the pool bar and mosquito repellent

"Loved our stay "
We stayed one night at Sundaras resort & spa and we loved our time there. Great resort lots of greenery around the pool is surely the highlight.
The buffet breakfast was sensational, and the staff were more than happy to help with all our needs.
I would highly recommend this resort for your vacation. 👍👍

Comfortable stay for a mid range budget. Not luxury..but a clean place. Got A/C, hot water, buffet, free WiFi, huge rooms, good facilities in rooms.

Just loved this place. Rooms were huge and the ac worked great. The staff was amazing and was so helpful. Food was very good although there is quite a wait after you order. Highly recommend! The excursions were so easy to do and were really great

Has some positives but would not recommend a stay there.
Negatives of our experience:
- A large ants nest in the bathroom meaning ants were crawling up our legs when we went in, ants were also all over the room including in the bed. We were moved rooms but not really with much apology
- The room we were moved to had no working plug sockets or fan
- They charge you 23% tax on top of the room price and 10% on top of all meals and drinks whilst there and don't tell you about this until you have to pay.
- They try and push expensive tours
- I had my laundry done and it was returned basically uncleaned, still damp and scrunched up in the bag unfolded
Positives:
- Nice pool area and bar with cocktails
- The breakfast and dinner buffets were tasty, although expensive and plus 10%
- Apart from the issues with the rooms, they were otherwise nice and modern
- The wifi was good compared to some others we had experienced.
Overall we left feeling a bit scammed so I wouldn't recommend.response / report this review -

Damien and his team are the most welcoming and lovelypeople. We were in need of a treat and he certainly delivered we love Dambulla beautiful paradise. Would go back in a heartbeat
