It's a good place to enjoy holiday
Great location for Matale town center, tea estate visits, mini worlds end and temples.
We had a cooking lesson with Priya and "estate tour" with Jeyakumar - both really good experiences.
Jeyakumar and his wife, and the staff were brilliant. Peter and his wife also very welcoming.
Nice relaxing atmosphere with light music being played, the house has lots of character.
Look forward to our next stay with them!

Can not recommend the location, staff, (food-wow), style and vibe of the place enough. Such good value. Great work Pete, Moti and the team. Great stop before the Kandy train too.
The villa is beautiful, set in a wonderful garden and facing out over the hills. We enjoyed wonderful sunset skies whilst drinking on the terrace with the other guests and using the pool. The food was amazing and suited all tastes - it is prepared and served with obvious pride. The whole vibe of the place is wonderful and it attracts a good crowd.
The villa team organised a day tour of Kandy (temple and botanical garden) and another day of hiking. Both were excellent and anything we needed was provided for.
Perfect place to spend a vacation with loved once..
My partner and I enjoyed an incredible week-long stay at Strathisla Tea Estate. Pete, Mozelle and the team went above and beyond to make our stay very special, and to make us feel very welcome. No matter what our request, nothing was ever too much trouble.
The rooms are incredibly spacious, all slightly different in set up or views. Each room is a few steps away from the most beautiful pool area, where you can swim, sit and relax, or enjoy a meal with gorgeous views of classic 'tea country'.
The food served is outstanding and the team will be flexible with dietary needs and catering to the odd whim.
Their is such a strong sense of historic charm in both the architecture and the lush natural surrounds. The staff were always going out of their way to make us feel at 'home' - trying to think ahead, removing all the travel hassles and enabling us to slip into holiday mode as quickly as possible.
We will be back, this guesthouse quickly started to feel like a 'home' to us, and is such a standout to the many we have stayed in around the world.
Bliss! We were welcomed very warmly by owners Peter and Mozelle at their romantic, sympathetically-restored Plantation Home to a wonderful Lunch on the terrace overlooking 25 acres of exotic gardens with far-reaching views to jungle, mountains and valleys. Jaykumar the manager runs the estate efficiently, and his lovely wife Pria cooks delicious food sourced from the estate or from local farmers. The fine house is tastefully furnished with Sri Lankan antiques and the high-cieling bedrooms have 4-poster beds. We were having a reunion lunch with old friends from Mount Lavinia, and were enjoying ourselves so much, they missed their train to Colombo! A blessing, really, as we could linger over delicious desserts on the terrace, enjoy the view, the swimming-pool, and the soon-to-be-opened new Yoga Spa, discreetly hidden in the beautiful grounds. I have been here before and never want to leave, and always want to return, for longer. Heaven!
Best stay at tea estate hotel Sri Lanka! Everything about our stay at the estate went above and beyond our expectations. The views were magnificent and the food even better! We will definitely recommend a stay at the tea estate for anyone who wants a relaxing, tranquil and unique experience in Sri Lanka!
Tea estate bliss Sri Lanka
A stunning and serene tea estate hotel with delightful walks amongst the tea and spice gardens. The cuisine was the best we had tasted during our time in Sri Lanka and the service was amazing. Wonderful Knuckles hiking.
