Visited this place on our way to Nuwara Eliya. Our cab driver suggested this place( must be getting some commission for sure).
This place has a tea processing centre, a guide will explain you the processing steps and tour the processing plant. There are sample tea tress near by( by sample I literally mean 5 6 tea trees).
After the tour, they serve you around 8 types of tea in a very presentable manner for tasting and try to sell the tea product's.
Pl. DONT BUY ANYTHING FROM THIS PLACE, the prices are ridiculous.50 g of white tea is worth LRK 13k.
We ended up buying cardomon tea and lemon tea 100 g's each 3 packes amounting to LRK 6k.
We tasted the tea before we purchased. I regret my decision to buy such expensive tea which doesn't seem geniune. When I made the tea at home using the product, the taste and flavour were absolutely missing.

Would suggest going to proper tea plantation which are at Nuwara Eliya and spend some money on good tea.

Not recommended!

A very simple black tea processing operation that serves a great cup of complimentary tea. Ours was a cuppa milk tea just like from home in Mumbai. Good for a quick stop and a good cuppa

This is nicely arranged small tea ☕ selling outlet (and a museum). There is a small parking 🅿 space. Service is average. There are limited variety of products available here. Comparatively products are bit over priced. But they have 500g and 1kg packets without expensive packing .

A very nice destination to get good handpicked tea with different qualities & types of teas.
They will show you the steps they are following to produce the different types of tea.
They have a very nice show area upstairs where you can buy your favorite type of tea with reasonable prices. Their products are packed in a nice way so you can use it as a souvenir. All the staff were very welcoming & friendly.
It’s recommended for anyone visiting Kandy.

We visited here. The usual tourist focused trappings. After tasting the tea, we ordered two packets of the more expensive strong tea. It was a mistake that we did not open the packages to see what we got was what we paid for. Big mistake! On return home we were disappointed to see that the tea bags contained the inferior tea while we paid for the expensive variety. Check what you get before you leave!! The attractive packing is deceptive

A tour around the factory will give you an idea of how tea is still produced, which hasn't changed much over the decades. I was proud to see much of the British engineered machines still chugging away after 100 years of use. Victorian, over-engineering at its best. At the end of the tour we sampled a range of different strength teas, which was nice.
If the tour would have been more concise and the choice of teas to purchase wider, this would have been a perfect addition to our tour.

I think this is typical place where your driver will stop and says this is a place you need to see with real tea production. IMHO the factory isn't really used and all tea leaves only were there for decoration. Sadly our tour guide was a novice and could not speak good English. He rushed through the compound barely explaining everything. In the final selling area you were offered all different Sri Lankan teas to sell you high priced teas in the end. Luckily there was another guide around who was able to explain much more so it turned out to be ok in the end. We also bought some tea (credit cards accepted) but as said for quite a high price and I cannot really say if it is worth the money. I could have skipped it all

Location is brilliant. The time you land you are taken on a factory tour by their representatives who are mostly females. You are shown what seems to be sample tea plantation & production area which itself is very small. We were told that this is a running factory & machines here are in use for production but as per there condition & appearance they seemed just for demo only. Finally you are taken to an area where you presented with different kind of tea varieties to taste & buy if you like. This impresses many like me.
But for me prices here quite expensive which almost defeats the purpose of visit.

It is a museum tea factory and tea experience Centre where they take you to a small plant and make you understand how tea power is produced. It is interesting to learn different processes undergo before the final product is produced. The guide will make you understand A-Z of tea production and products. Finally they will take you to the tea experience Centre to taste 8 different teas. But the thing i understood that, they sell all products in double the price. I could see that the same products are available at Bandaranaike Airport duty paid shop in reasonable rates. I was cheated.

The free tour is both informative and enjoyable. The different stages of making tea are witnessed followed by a visit to the shop where their products can be bought. Unfortunately, the the prices are prohibitive and hence 3 stars only.

We were planned to go to another tea factory but the driver stopped at this place and said have a look at the tea prices, when we entered they took us to the factory tour so we felt a little scammed, but we stopped the tour and went directly to the shop, they provide tasting for different teas and the prices are a little expensive compared to other factories. But we smelled different tea products, after we finished sri lanka visit this place had some stuff nice and expensive if you don't mind.

Good tour and guide and interesting presentation of the manufacturing process. But the shop is a total rip off. The tea cost more than it does in my own country and it really feels like a rip off. Recommend the tour but not the shop.
