I booked a tour via your centre and was organised by one of your workers (Thushara Pradeep). I proved feedback of the unprofessional behaviour of my driver however have not received a response. I was actually in a very dangerous situation based on the behaviours of the driver and have already provided the following feedback:

The guide drove like a maniac with a lot of near missed head on collisions. He was constantly driving on the wrong side of the road, overtaking on corners with oncoming traffic and tooting his horn at people. I think he actually hit a dog on the return trip as I heard it yelp. I did not feel at all safe in the car with him and as a result asked to return to Colombo early.

Although I paid for transport, the driver wanted me to pay an extra 300 rupees to use the highway. However I refused and on the way back he avoided the highway due to this cost.

We arrived at the elephant sanctuary late and therefore only saw the elephants for ten minutes.

When mentioning that I wanted to stop for lunch he didn’t seem to understand this and took me to a herbal medicine place that I had no interest in and had not even mentioned.

He advised me that I would need to hire trousers at the tooth temple for about 200 rupees, however I had to buy trousers for 800 rupees.

I made sure I was ready for pick-up by 6.15am as requested yet the driver did not arrive until 7am.

It was a very unpleasant day and I wish I had gone through a more formal and professional travel agent as I don’t believe the driver or Thushara had any training within tourism.

    Regards,

    Paul

You can find tourists guide booklets about hotels and accommodation and make inquiries from the staff.
