  Holy cross shrine is a powerful church in Ampara district. Most people come from out of kalmunai area and mostly Hindu people and some of Muslim people believe this holy cross shrine. This church special for story of jesus (passka).

  I went there last Christmas season; it was amazing how they had made the manger so beautifully with paddy.

  Locally known Sorikalmunai church is one of the shrines in the Batticaloa diocese. The Holy Cross shrine or church is dedicated to Jesus. Many people visit this church regardless of their faith.
