The temple contain large number of archaeological ruins including the ancient Stupa, ruins of buildings, pond, wall, and the Bodhi tree which is believed to be one of saplings of Jaya Sri Maha Bodhi tree in Anuradhapura.

This is a historical place. There is an ancient Bo tree. According to local knowledge, the people who are living in this area believe this is a part of original Sri Maha Bodi Tree (Anuradhapura Jaya Sri Maha Bodhi Tree) Former president Mahinda Rajapaksha also been there for a 84000 lotus flower puja.
