Whatever the way affordable for you. Went there on a poya day around 50 people were their with some goods, at 10.30 there was the sermon of nearly an hour. If you like to help call them and ask !

The temple is also really calm and beautiful. It's a place to relax your mind. You can donate whatever you can to this place for the benefit of these sick monks. Also you can arrange a 'gilan pasa poojava' or even a dharma sermon which will be telecasted in Meth tv.

Temple is being renovated and a new pagoda "Bakkula Maha Seya" is being built during my visit in Jan-19. Was difficult to find parking due to construction work. Access road is a bit narrow. I recommend to donate money to spend on patients than just bringing medicinal stuff.
