The beach is nice. Keep left at the waterfront to avoid the tourist trap bar. Swim for free. Bring your own beer. Watch some hermit crabs. Snorkel a bit. Good beach.

Also, the name is idiotic. There are signs all along the way, saying "SECRET BEACH --->"

Not so secret then is it? Not to mention it's on Google Maps.

Great location, okay bar. Beers are reasonably priced, very chill. It's also the only place with shade on the Secret Beach.

Excellent experience! Despite some of the poor reviews I read here, I found the staff and owner to be extremely friendly, quick and accommodating. This is run by a 25 year old man and his 18 year old cousin as the manager. It's very relaxed, in a good quiet location, perfect for getting some sunshine and watching the sunset with a cold beer. The owner even sat with me for a round and we had a lovely conversation.
    *** highly recommended!

STAY AWAY FROM THE BEACH BAR. The beach itself is nice, not worth the effort getting there though. The really short ugly guy that works at the bar was very rude and made our time here unbearable, I would not recommend anyone ever going to this place EVER. Rude, overpriced menu and yuck food and drinks. I would give this place a minus -5 star rating if I could. Nothing at all good about this place. Stay away!

It has a small private beach that is rocky and not really worth visiting as the prices are exorbitant and the staff are unfriendly.

Incredible private beach with clear water for snorkeling. The bar itself has a limited menu and high prices compared to elsewhere. Staff were Not very friendly but we may have caught them on an off day.

The owner/manager/reprobate called Chaminda or "Chami" (short tubby man with long hair and patchy moustache) just chased us (my girlfriend and I on a scooter!) from the property with 2 x 1m long machetes threatening to kill us over a discussion over pro rata rental of the snorkel, fins and goggles. They made us pay - via intimidation - the full hourly rental rate for 10mins of use..

Further, the food (and drinks!!) takes incredibly long to arrive and is drastically overpriced.

I would recommend visiting the beach - take your own picnic and sit on the beach around the corner, but DO NOT DO ANY BUSINESS WITH THEM!!

Average, overpriced food which takes ages to come. Cocktails are tiny. The staff are the most unfriendly people you'll come across in Sri Lanka. We were charged for using the snorkel for an hour when we only used it for 10mins. We paid but we were still chased out of the restaurant with a machete. I urge you not to go. Seriously not worth the experience.

A secluded small beach away from the masses at Mirissa. We went for lunch and had really nice food - spicy calamari was delicious, as were the hot garlic prawns. Took an hour for the food to arrive, so take a book, sit back and chill.

It's nice and all. Very secluded. But it's mostly rocks on beach and very little water you can bath in. Beautiful though
