A central hub for interesting places around the area. Long distance buses to Kandy, Kegalla, Badulla and many more is available. Pretty crowded always. Facilities are poor though.

Ratnapura is the main city of Sabaragamuwa province. So thousands of people came here for reach their day to day activities. Ratnapura central bus staion is placed on a corner of the city so anyone can find it easily. It has three lines of bus stop areas. The bus staion was used as the train staion in the past. The first building has two floors. It has some restaurants, hair saloons, bookshops, phone repairing centers, Labs, pharmacies, phone shops and many more. Colombo(old road/new road),Kuruvita, Eheliyagoda, Awissawella, Balangoda, Embilipitiya,Rakwana, Mahawala estate, New town, Hospital bus stops are placed on the first line. And also the private bus inquiries office , CTB(Ceylon Traveling Board) bus inquiries office and bus staion police are on there to help you. The second line of station has Panadura, Idangoda,Kahangama, Karapincha, Goluwawila, Hakamuwa, Elapatha, Kehelowitigama bus stops. Third line has Nivithigala, Kalawana, Kahawaththa, Rathganga, Sri Palabaddala,Wewalwaththa bus stops. (Those bus stops can be change as administration uses. So please ask from the office if you got problem with finding your routes bus. *and all lines have sub categories of bus stops for different routes.) If you are traveling from Colombo or other city please wait until your bus stops. All buses are came to the bus staion for it's next journey. So you can get off right in the bus staion. Bus staion has newly added security camera systems and tv system. And also it has free wifi. But you need to register to use free wifi. Ask your local network provider for info. Bus staion's mid (near Kuruvita eheliyagoda bus stop)and near the police staion(near balangoda bus stop) has water facilities. Don't use middle one for drinking. Use otherone. First line's corner their have public toilet for ladies and gents. (They are clean and can use without trouble. They normaly charge 10LKR for person.) There is so many sellers are came to your bus and sell cool drinks, foods and fruits. According to my knowladge they didn't got any complain befor for selling expired foods and drink. But for your safty please check expiration date before buying. Don't let anyone to get your bags. In the past we saw some thives in there. But the present we didn't see anyone. They normaly getting to the bus. So be careful with them wherever you traveling. Thank you for read this.. hope this will help to you.. :D
