  Needed to intercept a package being delivered to my address before I depart the city and so I visited this PO. During first interaction, was directed to the Mount Lavinia PO, since apparently my address has been transferred to be handled by them now. When the Mount PO couldn't help either, I went directly to the General PO at Fort and was told there that my package had been indeed delivered to the Ratmalana PO. When I came back, the incompetent staff did indeed have my package. Only they began to chastise me for not using Mount Lavinia as my address when my address is clearly in Ratmalana. I do not mind these logistical complications, but government servants handing the blame to someone else when being lazy and incompetent themselves is unacceptable.

  This is service and it happened few hours ago. I wanted three stamps of 50/- value in a hurry and the time was 5.55 PM. I called the Post office explained my urgency and they said please come over. I was about three kilo meters away and I got there five minutes after closing time which is 6.00PM. They waited from me and gave me the stamps and I was able to attend to my urgency.
  
  How I wish if all the Departments can work like this and extend to the public that little bit more.
