Wolds tallest walking Buddha statue can be seen here among other sculptures which are related to Buddhism and great journey of Buddha. There are two roads to Temple along Colombo Kandy road. Most famous is Ranawana temple Rd by the railway crossing. However this Rd is congested n better to take road from Kiribathkumbura junction on busy days like poya days.

Very attractive Buddhist Viharaya near Kandy. About 30 minutes ride from Kandy city. Parking and general facilities available. Easy climb to the top of the mountain where you can see a fascinating Buddha's statue and a panoramic view of the surrounding area. Along the climbing steps you can enjoy the sculptures depicting iconic events of Buddhist history. Highly recommend to any tourist.

It's a beautiful place to visit. Not only you can see the highest walking Buddha statue but also the some arts around the path. The interest thing is there's a well planned path for entrance and for exit. So there will be no mess while climbing the steps.

One of the beautiful places i have visited. Nice atmosphere and make sure you travel early morning or evening so that you can enjoy the view of the Buddha statue.

Its the World's highest statue of walking buddha .its a beautiful temple ,takes around 30-40 min to climb up and come back, well maintained and kept clean. The road to the temple is narrow and few trolls but was able to go there without any problem in a car. Have enough space for car park. Dont forget to visit nelligala raja maha viharaya which is a 20 min drive from Ranawana Royal Temple

A temple which has become much popular since 2014 due to some additions to the original temple. At the time of construction, the temple was added with the tallest walking buddha statue, located on top of a mountain.

Ranawana Rajamaha Viharaya is built with maximum use of natural resources and It's a very beautiful place to see the whole theme of the temple is tightly bound with nature. Ranawana purana rajamaha viharaya is most probably one of the most beautiful temples in Sri Lanka. Except ordinary characteristics of a temple, Ranawana Viharaya has a amazing trail in to the forest through rocks and trees. Many of important incidents Lord Buddha's life has made in forest attractively.

calm and quiet place. beautiful statue. kids can gather more knowledge about specific trees to 28 lord buddhas and special incidents occurred in lord gauthama buddha's time period while walking to the statue.. great viewpoint. you can also see the nelligala stupa from here..
