It has given rebirth to history of Sri Lankan Bhuddha statues by this Bhamiyan type great work. Rocky garden is quite unique and beutifull. Good place to mind relaxation.

This is the world tallest Samadhi Bhuddha statue carved on a granite rock (2002-2015).
Inspired by a set of little children, led by Ven. Amaramouli Thero, cordinated by Sri D. Easswaran, sculpted by M.M. Sthapathi.

Few kids in Rambodagalla village were extremely disappointed when they heard the story of mass destruction of Bamian budhdha statues. They were very sad and they wanted to build a rock statue here in Rambodagalla as a replacement, Yes that's how kids think.. They collected all the coins they had in their money boxes and gave it to the monk in Rambodagalla temple asking to carve a rock statue.. That's how this massive project was started.. Largest Samadhi Budhdha Statue in the World which is carved on natural rock..
