From what it was many years back the hospital has come a long way. This government hospital is the biggest health care institution for the district of Polonnaruwa. It serves all the major specialties. A brand new ward complex is coming up. So is a new Accident and Emergency department. An state of the art Cath lab is doing a great service to the cardiac patients of the region.

Worked more than 4years here. Really nice place to work. Most of the staff is very friendly. Well organized and neat hospital with lot of advanced facilities. Currently lot of development is going on too. Only disadvantage is the distance from main cities. 240km to Colombo, 6hours travel.

Poor services. Receptionists don't know Tamil ? Very bad. Has to search a department for 15 minutes. They asked to come another day to clinic. They don't care the situation of the patients.
