Highest mountain of Sri Lanka. You need to have a vehicle to enter and you are not allowed to stop once you entered from the gate until you reach the top. Entry Will cost only for the vehicle. Make sure to bring your ID/Passport if you are planning to go there.

Prior approval not needed. You can take the ticket at the entrance.

Beautiful place you shouldn't miss to visit if you are in Nuwaraeliya. Remember to take permission from Department of Defense at least 2 days before the visit to avoid delays. You need to submit the request by fax or email to with following details.
1. Name/s of representative/s and their designation.

3. Purpose.
4. Car/Vehicle number

We were extremely lucky, since there was no most at the peak and had a 360 vision from the summit. However no photography and videography is allowed since it is a high security zone, hence we did not violate that order

Not a worth one.. just can say that I have reached at the highest place in Srilanka, other than that no point to go.. No proper Views

Highest point in sri lanka. North east south & west marked in a concrete stump at the top. You can have a delicious Polroti with a plain tea by army welfare shop. 😋

Worth having it on the list of places to visit in Nuwara Eliya but certainly not top of the list. The road to the top of the mountain is through some beautiful scenery and landscape but at the moment vehicles are not allowed to stop any where. On the top there is a lot of military presence and not much to do other than sightseeing. But still it is nice of SL army to have opened the access to this highest mountain of Sri Lanka for tourists.

The highest place in SriLanka. Very close to Nuwara Eliya and is an army base. We were allowed to go to the top, there are security guards everywhere. Some places are cordoned off, but I’m not complaining as we go to see such beautiful views from here.
To get there, you can take your car right up but there is a little walking that’s required, keep in mind.
This beauty of nature is clearly visible from any place in the Central Province.

Simply amazing. The view from the top was breath taking. The 6km road to the top is in good condition. There was a small queue as there were others waiting.. You need to give your Names, ID numbers & contact number to the guards before ascending (entrance ticket ~400/-)

No stopping/ or taking photographs on the way. (High security zone). Once you get to the parking at the summit, you can take out you're camera. The mountain view is amazing during the mornings.

Excellent .. Good thing is you can drive to top . But You have to Fill a foam by chexk point will take less than 5 min.. Be aware they chrage for us Rs 145 per tea cup . Which is bit not fair .. but location worth to visit . Sri lanka highest mountain . Their little budhist temple which is so beutyfull .

List of names of passengers required for entrance probably due to security reasons. ..so it's a little time consuming at entrance and also traffic formed. ..Good to visit but some areas prohibited for general public -need special permission

Provide your names & identity card number or passport numbers of all who are entering at this point, because its a high security zone & these officers are responsible for you. Dont get down from your vehicle untill you reach to the top of the mountain. Enjoy the highest point in Sri Lanka🇱🇰 .

You need to provide names and NIC details of all who are travelling at the security check point as it is a high security zone. Entrance is free and you must remain in the vehicle at all times as there are lepords and other wildlife. Therefore vehicles are not allowed to stop at any point and only 10 vehicles are permitted inside at a time. Once you reach the highest point, you will be enveloped by clouds! The views are amazing! No photography or video is allowed around the air force camp and antennas.

Piduruthalagala Gate heavy security no liquor allowed to carry up. NP stop between entrance to peak point. Limited vehicles only. Sri Lanka Army controlled area.
