  Japanese built this temple so its design is different from other temples around Sri Lanka. Calm and peaceful. Temple oversees a lake.

  Great Buddhist temple on the bank of beautiful Ampara tank. Sometimes if you are lucky you may meet elephants. It's a must see place if anyone plan a trip to Ampara. It's not only a sacred Buddhist temple but also full of beautiful scenic views in a calm and quite environment. Best time is in the evening. Don't forget to have "unu unu roti with katta sambol " and " kahata with hakuru "
