I visited this place few days back with bunch of my office colleagues for a three days visit. After watching “Travel with Chathura” on TV Derana we had an intention of having a great pleasure with the clam and secluded surroundings. The place is really amazing as it mentioned on TV Derana. It was in the middle of Kiriketi oya and Belihul oya.
Unfortunately, the management of this location is pathetic and they don’t have any idea about what customer care is. It seems they don’t want to run this as a proper manner. Here I put some incidents we faced during out 3 days visit.
•Poor welcome – When we reach this location it was it was late midnight. The owner came to pick us (luckily) and direct us to the camping site. That was the one and only time we see him. When we woke up following day morning no one was there to say at least “hi”.
•Poor guest relation – We had to beg for the morning tea. Finally, tea was served around 9:00 am. We were initially planning to leave the place to Bakers bend and Nagrak Bungalow around 7:00 am and we had to delay all our schedules coz of their poor service.
•Ruined BBQ night – when we book this place they have promised us to provide 200grams of chicken for each person. Rest of the thing should be afforded by us. But, they didn’t provide us both the chicken and the charcoal for the BBQ. Though the owner promised us to bring the charcoal for us he came to the place around 11:00 pm without the charcoal. Luckily we knew that he is lying and we were able to manage the BBQ anyhow.
•Poor kitchen service - We took ample food for the BBQ and we asked their cook to marinate the chicken, pork for us. Without any hesitation they said “yes” but they didn’t know how to do marinate even. Further, we gave jumbo prawns and asked them to prepare a batter and the feedback was same. That crazy cook has never seen battered prawns before and he had deep fried those prawns instead. Ultimately we had to hijack their kitchen and we cooked by our own.
•Poor sanitary – When we woke up last day morning no water in toilets. We had to run here and there seeking for water and any person to switch on the water pump.

Conclusion: Guys, when you plan to visit “Nisala the forest Sanctuary “next time, better to think twice or thrice before confirm the place. Better if you can manage everything by your own or when you speak to the management, you better mention your requirements strictly. Otherwise you also will be the same like us and they will definitely spoil your vacation where even Chathura Alwis also cannot save you. Thanks.

We visited this place last week (Sep 2018) and the Nisala resort management has shown their incapability of treating to a guest and satisfying their guests by doing simple things. They forgot what they promised, and basic amenities are missing. Premises is not properly maintained, some rooms are filled with their equipment which disturbs the guest and limited the space of the room. These welcome drinks are dramas, we were not even given a glass of water at the check-in. We stayed there two nights but the owner didn't even pay a visit to check what we were up to.

They have ruined our BBQ night and our crew had to take control of it (even the marinating meat). They have forgotten to bring charcoal, instead we were given a gas grill where gas cylinder was almost finished. Disappointment continued throughout our stay and the only the satisfaction was the bath we had in the small canal by the resort. Meals are comparatively good.

Management apologized to us at the check-out but that will not do anything. We are a team of 15 members, who will never recommend this place for anyone.
Finally, this place is a gem because of the location and the water streams nearby, but someone needs to take the control and maintain it in a professional manner.

Worth visiting with your family. Well maintained, an open zoo, where you can have an enjoyable relaxing walk around the zoo. Withing 2 hours time you can cover the whole area. Parking is available on the side of the main entrance.

Really nice place to relax and enjoy time with the environment. Good facilities practically in middle of a forest. Kirikati Oya and Belihul Oya are to the two sides of the Sanctuary.
