Negombo Bus Terminal is one of Sri Lanka’s best, and municipal planners throughout the country view it as an example of how a bus stand should be built.
The three-story terminal was completed in 2008, after Western Province Minister for Transport and Highways Nimal Lanza persuaded the Government to provide the final Rs60 million to finish the Rs230 million project.
Nearly 40,000 passengers and more than 500 private and CTB buses use the terminal every day on routes including major destinations such as Colombo, Kandy, Kurunegala, Kegalle, Ratnapura, Avissawella, Mannar, Kalpitiya, Tangalle, Kekirawa, Hatton, Balangoda, Kataragama, Kuliyapitiya, Chilaw, and Ja-Ela.
renewed..
this is the Negombo dipot of Sri lanka transport board and not the Negombo bus station. Please recorrect this immediately.
If you want to take any bus to colombo area. Dont go to this place. This is bus stand. Instead search of this search for "negombo bis terminal" on google map. Which is the right place to make your trip. I wont sure this for other places. I have only made my trip from here to colombo. I forgot to notice other buses on the stand.
It was easy to find the right bus for us. The security man was also helpful.
