Calm place near Udawalawa
Best place to stay with your family
There’s one room with 2 double beds and private bathroom. The room is new and very cleaned. The mattress are very comfortable. The private bathroom is wide and there’s hot water with a good water pressure (for sri lanka accomodations standards). There’s fan or A/C for a 5 euro extra. Outside there’s a very nice balcony with a nice view. We didn’t get any mosquitoe inside the room as all windows are well sealed.
We had dinner and breakfast. For each meal there was a lot of food and the food is so, but so good. All made with a lot of love and they srr always asking if you like it or if you want more.
The family is very nice and make you feel very comfortable.
The wireless is fast (for sri lanka standards) and you can get connection on the balcony and inside the room.
We also went to a safari with the owner’s brother. We went on the 6 am. Besides being a driver he’s also a guide which told us a lot of nice information about some of the animals and birds that we get the chance to see on the park. From what we have seen in the park not all tours/safari jeeps gave those kind of informations. We higly recommend it. It was a very nice evening and night spent here and a lovely journey on the national park.
Highly recommend staying here if you are planning a safari trip to Udawalawe National Park! The hosts were the absolute sweetest people I have met, and made us feel right at home. They were always available to get ahold of and were waiting for us upon our arrival, even though it was late. The homemade dinner and traditional Sri Lankan breakfast was a highlight of the stay. The hosts always made sure we had enough tea and water, and even had a cold beer for us after dinner. The room was updated, very clean, and provided us with all we needed for our stay! It fit 4 women comfortably. We were able to book a safari through them too, and was picked up and dropped off at the doorstep before and afterwards. The whole family makes an effort to make you feel as comfortable as possible and it shows. I’ve never felt so safe being so far away from home! The cottage is tucked away in the jungle, and you can hear the stream running right beside it all day long which is very relaxing. We were only there for one night but it was more than we could have ever asked for. The host even arranged for a tuk to pick us up and drop us off at the bus station for only 100rp when we needed to leave! All in all, I wanted to leave a long review so that people from all over will know how amazing it was, and hopefully come to support this place and the family that runs the cottage. I hope you will find it as wonderful as we did!
The family were amazing! They were so kind and helpful. They brought us juice and tea when we got there initially. The food they cooked for dinner was so nice and there was so much! The breakfast was incredible! They brought us everything and we're so polite. It was such good quality for the price. I would 100% go back there again!
